FIELD: PETF recycling.
SUBSTANCE: recycling of used polyethylene terephthalate bottles for use in water purification from 1,4-dichlorobenzene. Method for obtaining metal-organic frame material UiO-66, which includes adding to finely cut chips of used polyethylene terephthalate bottles 54-62.46 wt.% 96% sulfuric acid solution, 7.3-8.29 wt.% sodium nitrate and 21.5-24.3 wt.% iodine powder, heated to 80-120°C and holding at this temperature for 24 hours, followed by cooling at room temperature for 3 hours, the resulting mass is mixed with distilled water, potassium hydroxide is added to pH 9-12, then sodium thiosulfate is added until a clear solution is obtained, which is acidified with hydrochloric acid to pH 2-4, the precipitate formed is filtered off, washed with distilled water and dried under vacuum, then 45 wt.% of the resulting intermediate is dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide and added to a solution obtained by dissolving 73 wt.% zirconium tetrachloride in a mixture of N,N-dimethylformamide and hydrochloric acid to pH 4-6, the resulting solution is kept at a temperature of 80-120°C for 24 h, then cooled to room temperature, centrifuged and washed with ethanol, the precipitate obtained is dried under vacuum at a temperature of 80°C.
EFFECT: increasing the sorption capacity of the resulting metal-organic frame material UiO-66, which is used to purify water from 1,4-dichlorobenzene.
