FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organometallic coordination compounds with sorption activity and can be used to create adsorbers for CO2, vapors of organic compounds (benzene) or separation of gas mixtures CO2/N2, CO2/CH4. Method of producing microporous terephthalate of zirconium (IV) involves the following steps. Dimethylformamide (DMF) and formic acid are mixed in ratio 1:(2÷3), added 0.5÷1 % terephthalic acid and 1÷2 % zirconium salt, the mixture is thermostatically controlled at 80÷150 °C for 10÷50 hours with slow stirring. Obtained precipitate is washed successively with hot DMF, hot water and acetone, then dried at 200–250 °C.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain microporous terephthalate of zirconium (IV) with high output (up to 80–90 %), high specific surface area (more than 1,500 m2/g) and pore volume higher than 0,6 ml/g.
