FIELD: electrical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: electrolytic-plasma method for producing gaseous hydrogen in a gas-liquid medium containing a cathode and an anode placed in dielectric vessels, which are interconnected at the bottom by a dielectric tube. The cathode and anode have an artificially created uneven surface of a zigzag shape, which, after electrical breakdown and shock wave, causes increased gas generation in the electrolyte with vigorous hydrogen evolution, is characterized by the fact that an electric discharge burns in the interelectrode spacing from 50-150 mm with small current ripples from 0 to 10 A and voltage from 400 to 1300 V, the vessels in the upper part are equipped with a hydrogen and oxygen sampling system, as well as pressure control valves in the vessels and an electrolyte drain and supply system, and aqueous solutions of alkalis of active metals are used as electrolyte.
EFFECT: increasing synthesis of hydrogen by creating enhanced gas formation on an artificially created uneven surface of the electrodes.
