FIELD: forestry engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for wide-row sowing of loose seeds of trees and shrubs in forest nurseries. Forest seeder comprises a frame, a hitch mechanism, support wheels, a seed hopper, a sowing device, a seed tube, a box-shaped coulter consisting of cheeks, side walls and a bottom, installed in the lower front part of the box-shaped coulter, closing the operating bodies (compacting rollers). On the lower surface of the bottom of the box-shaped opener for the formation of grooves, stiffeners are made in the form of trihedral prisms located parallel to the longitudinal-vertical plane of symmetry of the box-shaped opener, whereas the angle of inclination of the side faces of the trihedral prisms of the bottom of the box-shaped opener to the horizontal plane is greater than the angle of friction of the seeds against the soil surface. The compacting rollers are installed relative to the rear edge of the box coulter at a distance L = L₁ + L₂, where L₁ is the length of the soil mass closing after the passage of the box coulter, L₂ is the length of the soil wave in front of the compacting rollers.
