SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for melting raw materials in the form of cold cast iron in an electric arc furnace. In the method, the carbonaceous material is injected with the carrier gas through the central section of the carbonaceous material injection device, the fuel and the combustion gas are injected through the respective outer peripheral sections of said device. The carbonaceous material injected through the central portion passes through a cylindrical combustion flame which is formed by the combustion reaction between the fuel and the combustion gas, is separated from the carrier gas while maintaining a high inertia force, and is injected into the molten slag and molten iron.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to effectively inject carbonaceous material into molten slag and molten cast iron located in an electric arc furnace without compromising safety.
