FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laboratory methods for determining the deformation characteristics of soils. The method of laboratory determination of the deformation characteristics of soils consists in determining the relative deformation of the soil obtained from the results of testing samples under conditions of uniaxial static step loading without the possibility of lateral expansion, while the steps of applied pressures are selected according to the test program depending on the type of soil being tested using a compression device, mechanism creating a central load on the stamp with measuring the linear displacements of the stamp at specified time intervals, until the conditional stabilization of these displacements and the subsequent transition to another stage of loading, and according to the final values of the displacements and the corresponding stages of applied pressures, dependence graphs of the relative axial deformation and the coefficient of porosity on the axial stresses are constructed and used to determine the desired characteristics of the soil. During each loading stage, the stamp transferring pressure to the soil sample is rigidly fixed at least once for the estimated time interval, then the stamp fixation is removed, after the calculated time period, the displacement of the stamp is recorded and the transition to the next loading step is made.
EFFECT: providing a significant reduction in the timing of testing, reducing the dependence of test results on the time of holding steps, applied pressures, increasing the reliability and accuracy of determining the deformation characteristics of the soil.
