FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: agricultural working machine, in particular a harvester, includes a harvesting device for the harvested material, which serves to separate and capture the harvested material from the field crop. The harvesting device has as components at least one device for cutting the harvested material, a device for transporting the harvested material following it, and a device following it for retracting the harvested material. The agricultural working machine contains a control device containing at least one sensor unit for optical registration of the flow of the harvested material, an image processing unit for processing images created by the sensor unit based on the optically registered flow of the harvested material, and a data output unit for outputting images processed by the image processing unit. The image processing unit is configured to compile a field of speed characteristics based on the images generated by the sensor unit. The image processing unit is configured to compose, based on the images produced by the sensor unit, in addition to the velocity characteristic field, the direction change characteristic field. The data from the corresponding direction change characteristic field is used to check the data from the corresponding timed speed characteristics field for validity. It is envisaged that both fields of characteristics can be used together or separately by a control device for controlling processes in an agricultural working machine and/or in a harvesting device for the harvested material. A method for tracking a harvesting device for harvested material by an agricultural working machine, in which, using the image processing unit and based on images generated by the sensor unit, a field of speed characteristics is formed. Using the image processing unit and based on the images generated by the sensor unit, in addition to the speed characteristic field, a direction change characteristic field is constituted. Both fields of characteristics are involved by means of a control device together or separately to control processes in the machine and/or in the harvesting device for the material to be harvested.

EFFECT: improved tracking of the cleaning device for the material being harvested in terms of accuracy, reliability and timeliness.
