FIELD: biochemistry; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in diagnostic studies of various diseases accompanied by oxidative stress. A method of the determination of malonic dialdehyde is proposed. To a liquid sample of 1/20 by weight of Triton X-100 in the form of an aqueous solution the following is sequentially added: HCl solution to create an acidic environment with pH≅1 and a polymethacrylate matrix with 1.0% thiobarbituric acid immobilized in it. The concentration of malondialdehyde is estimated spectrophotometrically by the value of the optical density of the formed trimethine complex at a wavelength of 532 nm. The concentration of malonic dialdehyde is determined by a calibration graph or visually by a color scale using the color intensity of the polymethacrylate matrix.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the analysis time, exclude the influence of foreign substances of the sample on the result of the determination of malondialdehyde and thus increase the reliability of the determination of malondialdehyde.
