FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used for solid phase extraction of main thiazine dye of toluidine blue from aqueous solutions. Method involves reaction of a polymer matrix with a cross-linked internal structure with an analyte, its further separation from solution and estimating concentration of analyte. Polymer matrix used is an optical membrane based on transparent polymethacrylate matrix. Analytical signal is presented in form of light absorption at 608 nm. Colour coordinates or visual evaluation of colour intensity of optical membrane, quantitative and/or qualitative assessment of extracted toluidine blue dye is carried out using a calibration curve and/or colour scale plotted for reference concentrations.
EFFECT: possibility to use several versions of measuring an analytical signal of an optical membrane based on a polymethacrylate matrix for qualitative and/or quantitative estimation of content of toluidine blue dye.
