METHOD OF ELIMINATING COMPRESSIVE-VASCULAR ABNORMALITIES IN CASE OF SQUINT AND MYOPIA IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61H1/00 A61F9/00

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, children's ophthalmology and manual therapy and can be applied in treatment of squint and myopia in children. Method includes elimination of one- or two side spasm of superior oblique muscle of head in the process of manual therapy course. For this purpose patient's head, who is lying on the back, is gripped in such a way, that the first fingers are placed on lower jaw body, the third one- on upper nuchal line of occipital bone. Head is unbent to the level of atlantooccipital joint and pressure by the second finger on abdomen of spasmatic superior oblique muscle of head is performed until palpation sensation of its relaxation from one or two sides in turns. Then muscle is additionally relaxed, by bringing together places of its fastening by unbending and the same side inclination of head at the level of atlantooccipital joint with not less than 6 second delay. Stretching of muscle is performed by bending and opposite side inclination of head at the level of atlantooccipital joint.

EFFECT: method ensures elimination of compress-vascular abnormalities due to release of vascular-nerve bundles, improvement of blood supply and innervation of visual analyser and oculomotor muscles, increase of visual acuity, improvement or restoration of refraction, reduction of squint angle, increase of comparative accommodation reserve, appearance of simultaneous, binocular vision, disappearance of eye tortikollis.
