SUBSTANCE: invention is related to processing of metal surfaces in particular by polishing, and can be used in aeronautics, construction, automation, medicine, laser sintering and other fields of technology. The method of dry treatment of metal surfaces (1) by means of electrically active solid particles (9) includes the following steps: contact of said particles (9) with an electrode (3) of an electric power source (2), ejection of said particles (9) in the direction of the metal surface to be processing, transferring the electric charge of these particles to the metal surface to be processed. A device for dry treatment of metal surfaces (1) by means of electrically active solid particles (9) contains an electrical power source (2) with an electrode (3) that transfers an electric charge to electrically active solid particles (9), and a means for ejection of electrically active solid particles on the surface (1) to be processed.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of processing surfaces of large-sized elements, fixed elements without the need to place the surface in a container.
