METHOD FOR CAPTURING TOXIC GASEOUS EMISSIONS DURING THE REARRANGEMENT OF THE ANODE PINS OF AN ALUMINIUM ELECTROLYTIC CELL Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC C25C3/22

Abstract RU 2797439 C2

FIELD: emission treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for capturing toxic gaseous emissions during the rearrangement of the anode pins of an aluminium electrolytic cell. The method includes the localization of gaseous emissions in the sleeves, the adsorption of gases using a carbonaceous sorbent and the subsequent removal of gases through the exhaust gas ducts. The adsorption of gases is carried out in a container equipped with a sorbent, interconnected by a heat-resistant, heat-insulated hose using valves with a sleeve and with a gas tank, which in turn is interconnected using valves with a discharge line. After adsorption treatment, gaseous emissions are sent to the gas tank. In the process of filling the gas tank with gas, all valves are open. The filling of the gas tank with gas is controlled by the readings of the pressure gauge. After filling the gas tank, all valves are closed, the container is disconnected from the valve connected to the gas tank, after which the gas tank is transported to the place of gas afterburning. Then the valve of the discharge line is opened and compressed air is supplied to squeeze the gas out of the gas tank.

EFFECT: method allows capturing, safely transporting gaseous emissions to the afterburning zone and neutralizing the toxic components of gaseous emissions by 95-100%, while improving the environmental conditions for aluminium production, contributing to the reduction of roof emissions.
