FIELD: verification of meters.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining the total verification time using a real-time flow meter diagnostic tool during flow meter verification and a flow meter diagnostic tool. Baseline test volume (BTV), desired number of passes per cycle and/or maximum allowable number of cycles, flow meter data are entered into the diagnostic tool. An estimated minimum number of cycles required to reach the calculated TVT and/or an estimated minimum BTV is determined. The estimated total verification time (TVT) required to meet a predetermined reproducibility requirement is determined by calculating the standard deviation (σ) flow rate in the flowmeter sensor assembly, determining the number of samples used to calculate σ, coefficient (MSF) calculation for a particular meter.

EFFECT: determination of the total time of verification of the flow meter is ensured, based on connection of the diagnostic tool with the assembly (10) of the flow meter sensor (5).
