SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine the tactics of surgical treatment of patients with primary closure of the angle of the anterior chamber of the eye (AC) with intraocular pressure less than 30 mm Hg. In this category of patients, the value of intraocular pressure, the length of the anterior-posterior axis of the eye, the depth of the anterior chamber of the eye, and the sex are taken into account. The value of Ind is calculated according to the developed mathematical formula. If Ind is less than zero, peripheral laser iridotomy is performed. If Ind value is more than zero, lensectomy is performed.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to make an adequate choice of the method of surgical treatment of patients with primary closure of the angle of the anterior chamber of the eye with the achievement of the maximum hypotensive effect for the prevention of the development of glaucomatous optic neuropathy with ROM in primary angle-closure glaucoma.
