FIELD: medicine; orthodontics.
SUBSTANCE: simultaneously with the expansion of the dentition of the upper jaw, the position of the lower jaw is corrected. An apparatus consisting of two fixed structures for the upper and lower jaws is used. The structures are superimposed in such a way that their smooth surfaces face each other. The screw of the maxillary structure is located in the midline. The designs have hooks in the thickness of the plastic bases and indicator strips — metal arcs to indicate the sufficiency of expansion and the position of the lower jaw. In this case, the hook on the maxillary structure is located in the region of the temporary canine on the side opposite from the displacement of the lower jaw. The hook on the mandibular structure is located in the area of the temporary canine on the side of the displacement of the mandible. The hooks are connected by intermaxillary elastic traction in the form of rubber rings with the development of a traction force of 100 g and with the possibility of changing them. The metal arc of the maxillary structure, in the form of screw processes, is located along the longitudinal fissure of the temporary molars. The metal arc of the mandibular structure in the form of a metal wire passes inside the base plate opposite the buccal cusps of the temporary molars. After fixing the device, the screw is activated in the transversal direction by 0.25 mm. The procedure is repeated every 7 days for 3 months. Intermaxillary traction with the change of rubber rings is carried out 2 times a day. The expansion of the dentition of the upper jaw and the displacement of the lower jaw is carried out until the two indicator strips on the maxillary and mandibular structures are aligned. After that, the device is removed.
EFFECT: method allows to ensure normalization of the width of the upper dentition and at the same time correction of the position of the lower jaw, the device is easy to use, easy to adapt to preschool children and allows to create conditions for the harmonious development of the maxillofacial region in preschool children.
