The invention relates to a compound of formula (IA), where l represents 5; m is 7; M₁ is M'; R₄ is -(CH₂)_n Q, where Q is -N(R)R₈ and n is 3; M and M' are independently selected from -C(O)O- and -OC(O)-; R₈ is cyclobutenyl substituted with one or more oxo, amino, heterocycloalkyl selected from piperidinyl, morpholinyl and 4-methylpiperazin-1-yl, and mono- or dialkylamino, where mono- and dialkylamino are substituted with one C_1-3 alkoxy or dialkylamino; R₂ and R₃ are independently C_8-10 alkyl; R is H; and R' is C_9-18 alkyl. The invention also relates to a nanoparticle composition for delivery of a therapeutic and/or prophylactic agent based on a compound of formula (IA).
