FIELD: metallurgy, namely continuous casting of metals by melting-to-melting process. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of supplying metal form intermediate ladle to mold through immersible nozzle under metal heel; feeding onto meniscus of metal in mold at casting process next intermediate ladle of heat insulation slag mixture at working flowrate; drawing ingot out of mold at variable speed and successively changing intermediate ladles at casting process; when time interval equal to 1 - 5 min is left until change of next intermediate ladle, beginning to lower flowrate of heat insulating slag mixture and feeding exothermic slag mixture at increasing its flowrate until working value; setting constant value of total flowrate of both slag mixtures equal to working value of flowrate of heat insulating slag mixture; after changing intermediate ladle, interrupting supply of exothermic slag mixture and beginning to supply heat-insulating slag mixture at working flowrate. It is desirable to set flowrate of exothermic slag mixture in range 0.2 - 0.5 kg/min x sq.m. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method, increased number of non-rejected ingots. 2 cl, 1 tbl
