FIELD: measuring technology; means for measuring strains.

SUBSTANCE: sensor makes it possible to quantitatively determine the bending deformation by changing the electrical capacitance of the sensing element made of oxidized aluminium. The sensor can be used in industrial production to control deformations of structures and machine parts, as sensors for robotics, etc. The capacitive bending strain sensor contains a sensitive element placed in a flat elastic housing, having an electric capacitance, the value of which changes when a bending deformation is applied, made with the possibility of connecting to measuring equipment. The sensitive element is made in form of aluminium plates, and there is a layer of aluminium oxide between the plates formed by anodizing the plates.

EFFECT: simplification of the design and manufacturing process, exclusion of the dependence of the capacity on environmental parameters and the lack of sensitivity to tensile-compression deformation.
