FIELD: cutting equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a cutting head with torque transmission surfaces on the mounting ledge and to a rotating cutting tool with such a cutting head for use in metal cutting processes and, in particular, for drilling operations. The cutting head is rotatable around the axis of the head, contains an apical part and a mounting protrusion connected to it and extending axially backward from it. The mounting protrusion contains a plurality of circumferentially spaced torsion sections, axially spaced from a plurality of circumferentially spaced fixation sections. The fixation areas contain fixation surfaces described by an imaginary fixation circle with a fixation diameter. The torsion sections comprise torsion ridges and torsion cutouts, wherein each torsion ridge contains a torque transmission surface at least partially located outside the imaginary locking cylinder bounded by the imaginary locking circle, wherein each torsion cutout contains a recessed surface located inside the imaginary locking cylinder. The cutting head is detachably attached to the socket for receiving the head in the shank, with each fixation surface in contact with the corresponding bearing surface of the socket, while each torque transmission surface is in contact with the corresponding transmission surface of the socket.
EFFECT: optimization of the location of the cutting sections of the cutting head and stable transmission of torque between the shank and the cutting head.
