FIELD: general mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of thin-walled fiberglass pipes, which can be used, for example, in the production of air ducts for ventilation systems. A thin-walled fiberglass pipe is made by folding a fiberglass sheet into a pipe with edges joined. A fiberglass sheet with a thickness of 0.003-0.004 of the diameter of the manufactured pipe is used, consisting of alternating layers of fiberglass with a density of 100 to 200 g/m2 and a glass veil with a density of 30 to 50 g/m2. The edges of the sheet are connected with an overlap to each other at an angle of 20 to 30 degrees. The place of overlapping edges is glued and mechanically fastened.
EFFECT: obtaining thin-walled fiberglass pipes of any diameter with a wall thickness of 0.5 to 5.0 mm without the use of special equipment, special outfit, which significantly reduces the cost of production, simplifies the production process and does not require highly qualified specialists.
