SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the continuous casting of metals and alloys. The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the continuous casting of metals and alloys. The mould for producing continuously cast steel billets contains a cylindrical sleeve with an internal cavity open at both ends, a slotted gap for the passage of a cooling medium, thermocouples connected to the automatic control system for the operation of the mould, the sleeve is made of nickel with a wall thickness of 5-7 mm, on the outer surface which the protrusions are made with a depth of 0.6-0.7 mm, a width of 0.3-0.5 mm and a distance between the protrusions of 0.4-0.6 mm, and as a cooling medium for the mould sleeve, a nanofluid with Al2O3 nanoparticles is used in the amount of 1-3%.
EFFECT: making high-quality crack-free continuously cast billets from steels and alloys, intensifying the process of heat transfer from the surface of the sleeve, increasing the reliability and efficiency of using the mould, increasing the service life of the sleeve, reducing the consumption of the cooling medium, using the high-potential heat of the cooling water for process needs.
