FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for remote monitoring of deformations of the walls of a vertical steel tank. The method consists in placing point sources of infrared radiation powered by a battery on the tank wall and obtaining data on the direction of rays from the sources of infrared radiation using photofixation devices. The obtained data on the direction of the rays from the photofixation devices are transmitted wirelessly to the server, where they are processed and the angle of deviation of the beam from the horizontal axis is determined, which makes it possible to determine the deformation angle of the section of the tank wall on which the source of infrared radiation is fixed.
EFFECT: simplifying the method and enabling automatic remote monitoring of tank deformations.
