METHOD OF SKULL BONE DEFECT RECONSTRUCTION Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/00 A61F2/28 

FIELD: medicine, neurosurgery.

SUBSTANCE: additional zigzag incision is preliminarily marked in the form of three segments 3 cm long each at an angle of 100° in relation to each other so that all the segments form a longitudinal zigzag line. An incision is made along the previous postoperative scar, the skin-aponeurotic flap is separated from the underlying tissues and folded back to its base. The edges of the bone defect are isolated, a titanium implant is placed over the defect on top of the bone and fixed to the skull bones. A skin-aponeurotic flap is placed on the area of the skull defect. An additional zigzag incision is made along the marking up to the aponeurosis of the head. An incision is made in the aponeurosis and periosteum to the bone parallel to the border of the titanium implant. The formed periosteal-aponeurotic flap is moved over the titanium implant. The displaced periosteal-aponeurotic flap is fixed to the nearby soft tissues. The main incision is sutured first until the wound is completely closed. Then an additional incision is sutured.

EFFECT: method allows to reconstruct a defect in the skull bones, close the titanium mesh implant implanted in the area of the bone defect with a skin cover without tension with the formation of an adequate postoperative scar.
