FIELD: medicine; gynecology; dermatovenereology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing a persistent infection caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) of high oncogenic risk. In the cervico-vaginal contents, the number of lactobacilli is determined. In a primary culture of epithelial cells obtained from a patient infected with HPV, the change in the proportion of viable and apoptotic epithelial cells is assessed. The evaluation of the studied parameters is carried out using prognostic coefficients (PC), where if the number of lactobacilli is less than 104 CFU/ml — PC=+6, 104–105 CFU/ml — PC = +1, 105 CFU/ml and more — PC=-5; when the proportion of living epithelial cells is more than 70% — PC=+7, 50–70% — PC=+3, less than 50% — PC=-4; when the proportion of apoptotic epithelial cells is less than 20% — PC=+5, 20–30% — PC=+1, more than 30% — PC=-7. The predictive coefficients are summed up. If the sum of the prognostic coefficients is positive, the risk of developing a persistent infection is predicted; if negative, no risk is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of reliable prediction of the outcomes of infections caused by HPV high oncogenic risk, through the use of data on the number of lactobacilli and the proportion of living and apoptotic epithelial cells.
