FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: intermetallic titanium alloys based on the Ti2AlNb compound, which can be used for the manufacture of gas turbine engine parts operating at elevated temperatures. Method for vacuum heat treatment of billets made of intermetallic titanium ortho-alloys includes loading billets into a charge, heating the charge with billets to the heat treatment temperature, holding and cooling. Heating of the charge with billets is carried out stepwise in a vacuum with a vacuum value of not more than 0.0093 Pa: first, heating is carried out to a temperature of 500°C at a speed of 10 to 12°C⋅ min -1 with an exposure of at least 3 hours, then heating is carried out to temperatures from 900 to 940°C at a speed of 5 to 8°C⋅ min-1 with an exposure of at least 3 hours, after which the charge with billets is cooled in an oven in a vacuum of 0.0093 Pa to a temperature of 250°C and further in air up to a temperature of 20°C.

EFFECT: efficient removal of hydrogen, improvement of the mechanical properties of the billets.
