FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing n-acetylaminophenol (paracetamol) of formula I . The method involves catalytic reduction of n-nitrosophenol in ethyl acetate while mixing with a Raney-Ni catalyst at hydrogen pressure of 2-4 atm at temperature of 20-50°C, followed by treatment of the obtained n-aminophenol with acetic anhydride and separating the end product.

EFFECT: improved method of producing n-acetylaminophenol.
