SUBSTANCE: producing paracetamol involves the catalytic hydrogenation of p-nitrosophenol with Pd/C or Ni-Re catalysts at 20-70°C in a combination with acetylation in aqueous ethanol or aqueous isopropanol in the presence of acetic anhydride.
EFFECT: advanced method for producing p-acetylaminophenol using inexpensive solvents and ensuring a high product yield.
