SUBSTANCE: method for forming the emitting surface of field-emission cathodes includes production of a suspension of reduced graphene oxide and a suspension of carbon nanotubes, centrifuging the suspension of reduced graphene oxide, forming a layer of reduced graphene oxide by depositing its suspension on a heated substrate and irradiating the formed layer of reduced graphene oxide in vacuum with laser radiation in a pulsed mode, centrifugation of the suspension of carbon nanotubes, application of the suspension of carbon nanotubes on the heated substrate with the layer of reduced graphene oxide followed by irradiation of the formed layer in vacuum with laser radiation in a pulsed mode.
EFFECT: increased emission stability and increased emission current by improving uniformity of the formed structure by removing agglomerates of reduced graphene oxide and carbon nanotubes during suspension centrifugation, increasing adhesion of carbon nanotubes to the surface and reducing contact resistance between the carbon nanotubes and the substrate due to welding of the carbon nanotubes to a layer of reduced graphene oxide that is welded to the substrate.
