SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic engineering, in particular to the production of field emission cathodes by laser milling from carbon materials for vacuum electronic devices, including microwave devices with a microsecond readiness time. Method for manufacturing an autoemission cathode from a carbon material consists in the fact that a parabolic emitting surface is formed, the center of curvature of which is located inside the cathode body, on which the micro-point matrix is formed by the laser micro-engraving method.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the emission uniformity over the cathode surface and an increase in the cathode current.
