FIELD: medicine, dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine the degree of displacement of the articular disc of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the temporomandibular joint (MRI) is performed in the sagittal plane at the level of the articular condyle of the lower jaw and a section is obtained, on which the glenoid fossa of the temporal bone, the articular tubercle and the auditory meatus are visualized. On the obtained image, the deepest point of the glenoid fossa of the temporal bone is determined, which is 12 o'clock position mark of the conventional dial. The position of the posterior thickening of the articular disc relative to the conventional dial is determined. In the coronal plane at the level of the articular condyle of the lower jaw, the position of the articular disc is determined relative to the lateral and medial poles of the condyle. If the position of the posterior thickening of the articular disc corresponds to 13 to 12 o'clock position of the conventional dial, the articular disc is located centrally between the medial and lateral poles of the head of the condylar process, the norm is determined. If the position of the posterior thickening of the articular disc corresponds to 13 to 12 o'clock position of the conventional dial and there is a distal displacement of the head of the condylar process, degree 0 is determined. If the position of the posterior thickening of the articular disc corresponds to 12 to 11 o'clock of the conventional dial, the articular disc is thickened on the side of displacement or the displacement of the articular disc up to 1/6 of the mediolateral width of the head of the condylar process, degree 1 is determined. If the position of the posterior thickening of the articular disc corresponds to 11 to 10 o'clock position of the conventional dial, the disc is displaced up to 1/3 of the mediolateral width of the head of the condylar process with drooping in the direction of mixing, degree 2 is determined. If the position of the posterior thickening of the articular disc corresponds to 10-9 o'clock position of the conventional dial, the disc is displaced by 1/2 or more of the mediolateral width of the head of the condylar process, degree 3 is determined.
EFFECT: method provides an assessment of the position of the articular disc of the TMJ due to the stated degrees of displacement of the articular disc of the TMJ.
