FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics, and can be used for kinematic magnetic resonance (MR) tomography of temporomandibular joints (TMJ) in patients with metal structures. Examination is carried out on an MR tomograph with a magnetic field induction of 1.5 T in a head transceiving radio-frequency coil in a supine position with a laser positioning system marking on the bridge of the nose. MR-protocol consists of static and dynamic parts. Static part of the protocol in the closed-mouth position consists in obtaining the T1 WI and T2 WI axial, coronal and sagittal sections of the TMJ and the T2 WI oblique-coronal section of the TMJ, which is parallel to a mandibular branch and perpendicular to the meniscus. Static part of the protocol in the open-mouth position consists in obtaining T2 VI axial, coronal and sagittal sections of the temporomandibular joint in the open-mouth position. Dynamic part of the protocol consists in obtaining a T2VI sagittal section of the TMJ. After completion of each pulse sequence, scanning parameters are corrected.
EFFECT: method provides selection of the most optimal tactics of surgical and conservative treatment, considerable increase of clinical effectiveness without severe consequences due to the universal MR-examination protocol, which enables to reduce artefacts from metal objects and best visualize all joint structures.
