SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry and radiology. For the diagnosis of diseases of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) on tomograms in the sagittal plane, measure the width of the joint space in five portions of the joint and determine the angle of the rear slope of the articular tubercle. In the coronal plane measure the width of the medial portion of the joint space, measuring the length of a line between the most protruding point of the medial surface of the articular head of the condylar process of the lower jaw and the point on the medial surface of the glenoid fossa and the width of the lateral portion of the joint space, measuring the length of a line between the most protruding point on the lateral surface of the articular head of the condylar process of the lower jaw and the point on the lateral surface of the glenoid fossa surface. In the axial plane passing through the mid-height of the articular head of the condylar process of the lower jaw, determine the maximum width of the anterior portion of the joint space between the point on the medial surface of the articular head and the point on the surface of the glenoid fossa in the widest part of the joint space.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the efficiency of diagnosis of TMJ through the optimization of the analysis of computer tomograms.
