FIELD: preventive dentistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for scientific research and in certification centers to evaluate the effectiveness of caries prophylactic agents. A device for determining the effectiveness of caries prophylactic agents based on the assessment of ion transport through a biological membrane, contains a stand, a holder, a model of tooth enamel in the form of a biological membrane, a thermostat and a glass with a lid and electrodes. The electrodes are made to be connected to a 9 V current source and installed in the lid for interaction with a caries prophylactic agent in the form of a gel and with saline. The holder is installed in a glass and is made for pouring the studied caries prophylactic agent. The biological membrane is made in the form of a reservoir for pouring saline. The thermostat is built into the lid and is designed to maintain the temperature of the studied gel 36.6°C.
