SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to optimize the feeding of premature and underweight children in the first year of life. Dry adapted milk formula Nutrilon Pre 0 or Nutrilak Premium Pre are used for premature and underweight children as breast milk fortifiers. On the first day, the dry formula for milk enrichment is administered only in one feeding, on the second day — in two or three feedings, on the third day — in 4 or 5 feedings, on the 4–5th day the child is completely transferred to feeding with enriched expressed breast milk. The required daily amount of nutrition is calculated for a particular child by the caloric method, according to a given formula.

EFFECT: method contributes to preservation of breastfeeding for premature and underweight children who were not applied to the mother's breast for medical reasons, and allows to satisfy the child's daily need for energy and protein in case of feeding them with expressed mother's milk.
