SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a composition for use as a lubricating composition, to a lubricating composition, as well as to a method for making a lubricant additive. The proposed composition for use as a lubricant composition comprises a compound selected from the following compounds: N-[2-[(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]ethyl]isostearamide; N-[3-[(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)(3-alkyloxypropyl)amino]propyl]isostearamide; N-[3-[(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)(3-alkyloxypropyl)amino]propyl]cocoamide; and N-[3-[(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)(3-alkyloxypropyl)amino]propyl]oleamide. The proposed lubricant composition comprises at least 80%wt. lubricating base oil and 0.01-5%wt. additive compound represented by the formula:. In this formula, R1 is an unsaturated or branched hydrocarbon chain comprising 1 to 21 carbon atoms, R2 is a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon chain comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and m and n are independently a number from 1 to 5, where % wt. calculated based on the total weight of the lubricant composition.
EFFECT: development of less corrosive, highly effective organic compounds with the use of additives in lubricants.
