FIELD: aerosol generating systems.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a gel based on an alkaloid compound or based on a cannabinoid compound, which is used with an aerosol generating device, and its use. A gel-like composition for generating an aerosol, containing: an alkaloid compound, or a cannabinoid compound, or both an alkaloid compound and a cannabinoid compound, wherein the alkaloid compound is selected from the group consisting of nicotine, anatabine, and combinations thereof, while the cannabinoid compound is selected from the group consisting of from cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabichromene (CBC), cannabicyclol (CBL), cannabivarin (CBV), tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), cannabidivarin (CBDV), cannabichromevarin (CBCV), cannabigerovarin (CBGV), cannabigerol monomethyl ether (CBGM), cannabielsoin (CBE), cannabicitran (CBT), and combinations thereof; from 50 wt.% to 80 wt.% glycerol; from 0.2 wt.% to 5 wt.% gelling agent providing crosslinking through ionic bonds, and the gelling agent providing crosslinking through ionic bonds includes low acyl gellan, pectin, kappa-carrageenan, iota-carrageenan or alginate; from 0.2 wt.% to 5 wt.% of a viscosity increasing agent and/or from 0.2 wt.% to 5 wt.% of a gelling agent providing crosslinking through hydrogen bonds, while the viscosity increasing agent includes one or more xanthan gum, carboxymethylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, methylcellulose, gum arabic, guar gum, lambda carrageenan, or starch, wherein the hydrogen bonding gelling agent comprises one or more of galactomannan, gelatine, agarose, konjac gum, or agar, and lactic acid or levulinic acid. Use of the above-described gel composition with an aerosol generating device to heat the gel composition to vaporize an alkaloid compound or a cannabinoid compound or both an alkaloid compound and a cannabinoid compound.

EFFECT: above-described gel composition is stable, essentially retains its shape and weight.
