SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating article. Aerosol-generating article (10) for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated comprises: rod (12) of an aerosol-generating substrate containing a gel composition, wherein the gel composition contains at least one gelling agent, at least one of an alkaloid compound and a cannabinoid compound, and an aerosol-forming substance; mouthpiece (42); and intermediate hollow section (50) between the aerosol-generating substrate rod and the mouthpiece. Intermediate hollow section (50) comprises aerosol cooling element (24) located in axial alignment with mouthpiece element and adjacent to the upstream end of mouthpiece element (42), wherein aerosol cooling element (24) comprises hollow tubular segment (34) having a length of less than 10 millimetres and forming a longitudinal cavity providing a channel for unlimited flow, wherein the flow channel is empty. Intermediate hollow section (50) further comprises support element (22) located downstream of aerosol-generating substrate rod (12), wherein said support element comprises hollow tubular segment (26) to make longitudinal cavity (28) to allow unlimited flow.

EFFECT: providing high-efficiency cooling at a shorter distance due to the presence of the second empty hollow segment.
