SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating article. Aerosol-generating article (10) for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated comprises: aerosol-generating substrate rod (12) containing a gel composition, wherein the gel composition contains at least one gelling agent, at least one of an alkaloid compound and a cannabinoid compound and a substance for forming an aerosol; upstream element (46) located upstream of aerosol-generating substrate rod (12), and adjacent to the upstream end of aerosol-generating substrate rod (12); and downstream section (14) located downstream of aerosol-generating substrate rod (12), and in axial alignment with aerosol-generating substrate rod (12), wherein downstream section (14) comprises one or more downstream elements. Tightening resistance (RTD) of the upstream element ranges from mm of water column up to 80 mm of water column.
EFFECT: preventing leakage of the gel composition and optimizing aerosol delivery while maintaining an optimum level of resistance to draw.
