Aerosol-generating article for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated includes a rod of an aerosol-generating substrate. Aerosol-generating article also includes a downstream section located downstream of the aerosol-generating substrate rod and in axial alignment with the aerosol-generating substrate rod. Downstream section comprises one or more downstream elements. Aerosol-generating article is configured so that the center of mass of the aerosol-generating article is at least 60 percent of the path along the length of the aerosol-generating article from the downstream end.
