FIELD: microbiology; biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: method of cryopreservation of vaginal microbiota is proposed, including sampling of native vaginal fluid with a total bacterial mass in samples of at least 1×107CFU/ml (GE/ml) containing 50–90% of biologically active species of Lactobacillus spp., followed by low speed preparative centrifugation. Then pure cultures of protective lactobacilli are isolated from the sediment of the vaginal fluid by seeding the latter on nutrient media and suspended in a combined cryoprotective medium in a cryotube. The freezing of the suspension of the biomaterial is carried out in one stage by reducing the temperature at a rate of 1–3°C/min up to ambient temperature of minus 86°C in a low-temperature refrigerator with subsequent storage of the biomaterial suspension at minus 86°C.

EFFECT: invention ensures the preservation of the species spectrum of protective lactobacilli in samples of native vaginal fluid and increases the possibility of restoring their viability after storage at low temperatures.
