FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: system for collecting blood samples contains a container assembly that includes a cap and a defining reservoir. The container node has a first end and a second end, and the cap is located at the first end of the container node. The fluid access assembly includes a housing that defines an internal space, a fluid access component, a fluid connection component, and an engagement piece. The body has a first end and a second end, the fluid access component extends from the first end of the body into the interior of the body and defines a clearance. The fluid connection component is located at the first end of the housing and is configured to be connected to the patient access device so that the lumen of the fluid access component is able to communicate in fluid with the patient's vascular system through the fluid connection component and the patient access device. The adapter includes a first engaging part and a second engaging part. The first adapter engaging part is detachably engaged with the cap of the container assembly, and the second adapter engaging part is configured to engage with the fluid access component engaging part so that in the first configuration in which the first adapter engaging part is in engagement with the cap, and the second engaging part of the adapter is engaged with the engaging part of the fluid access assembly, the cap of the container assembly is located in the interior of the housing at a distance from the fluid access component. A method of using a system for collecting blood samples and an alternative version of the system for collecting blood samples are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing easy and efficient blood collection without contamination of the interface of the blood collection system.
