FIELD: computer technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to augmented reality devices based on a curved waveguide. A device for displaying augmented reality, comprising a projector, a curved waveguide having the shape of a concentric cylindrical meniscus, containing an input diffractive optical element and an output diffractive optical element; moreover, the curved waveguide is configured to propagate the rays of the original image from the input diffractive optical element to the output diffractive optical element by means of total internal reflection from the surfaces of the curved waveguide, and when the rays of the original image propagate, the corners and the output diffractive optical element are configured to form a virtual image on the retina of the user eye by transforming rays.
EFFECT: reducing distortions in the formation of augmented reality.
