FIELD: wire production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing an electric contact wire from a copper-based alloy, including obtaining a melt of a copper alloy alloyed with chromium, supplying a liquid alloy to a mold, crystallizing the alloy in the form of a continuously cast billet, quenching, deformation of the said billet into a wire rod, aging and forming an electrocontact wire. Quenching is carried out immediately after crystallization of the alloy from a temperature of 1000-1050°C with cooling by an air-water mixture at a rate that ensures the formation of a supersaturated solid solution of chromium in copper with a concentration of at least 0.2 wt.%. The billet is deformed by the method of equal-channel angular pressing according to the Conform scheme, combined with extrusion with an accumulated degree of deformation of at least e=2.5 at a temperature of not more than 450°C. The shaped profile of the contact wire is formed by rolling in shaped rolls at a temperature of 400-450°C and winding it into a coil, which is immersed in a bell-type furnace at a temperature of 450°C for 1-3 hours.
