FIELD: strapping machines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a strapping machine capable of strapping an object to be strapped, such as a reinforcing bar, with a wire. The technical result is the creation of a strapping machine configured in such a way that reinforcing bars can be easily inserted between a pair of guides. The technical result is achieved by the fact that the strapping machine contains: a body-forming part; a feed unit configured to feed the wire; a first guide and a second guide extending in a first direction from an end portion on one side of the body-forming part, arranged at an interval at which an object to be tied is inserted in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and configured to guide the wire supplied by the feed unit; a twisting block configured to twist the wire guided by the first guide and the second guide, and a movable guide portion configured to change said spacing from a first distance to a second distance less than the first distance, the second guide being supported such that it is movable towards and away from the first guide, and a binding operation is performed when it is determined that the second guide is moved to a second position at which said interval is the second distance.

EFFECT: creation of a strapping machine configured in such a way that reinforcing bars can be easily inserted between a pair of guides.
