FIELD: strapping machines.

SUBSTANCE: strapping machine comprises a body part, a feed unit configured to feed wire, a first guide extending in the first direction from an end section on one side of the body part, configured to guide the wire supplied by the feed unit, and having a first part made on the side endings in the first direction. The machine also contains a second guide, placed in the second direction from the first guide with an interval in which the object to be tied is inserted, orthogonal to the first direction, and configured to guide the wire supplied by the feed unit, and a twisting unit, configured to twist the wire, guided by the first guide and the second guide. The first part is formed by a surface inclined in a direction in which the spacing between the first guide and the second guide decreases from the end side to the base end side of the first part in the first direction. The first guide includes a groove having a guide surface with which the wire is in sliding contact and a control element configured to bend the wire. Part of the regulating element protrudes towards the guide surface. The entire first part is further on the end side than the end section of the groove on the end side of the first guide.
