FIELD: spectrophotocolorimetric methods of analysis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the analysis of solutions for the determination of antioxidant activity (AOA), and is related to biological chemistry and molecular physiology. The method for determining the antioxidant activity of natural compounds in the experiment is that the value of peroxide resistance of erythrocytes obtained by the spectrophotometric method according to the modified method of Pokrovsky A.A. and Abrarova A.A. is related to the amount of the substance of the natural compound administered to animals and the index of antioxidant activity is determined by the formula: IAA = (ΔA/Аhem)/n, where IAA is the index of antioxidant activity, c.u., ΔA is the decrease in the optical density of the blood sample: ΔА=Аhem - Аop; Аhem is the optical density of the hemolysed blood sample, Aop is the optical density of the experimental sample, n is the amount of the substance of the injected natural compound, mmol.
EFFECT: accurate determination of the antioxidant activity of natural compounds.
