SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a method for producing a sheet of an alkaloid containing material for an aerosol generating article. The method for producing an alkaloid-containing material sheet for an aerosol-generating article includes mixing particles of an alkaloid-containing material, a binder, an aerosol-forming agent, and water to form a pulp; forming a cast sheet from the formed pulp; drying the cast sheet with a heated fluid; heat recovery from exhaust gases generated during drying; recovery of volatile substances from spent substances obtained during drying; obtaining an aromatic extract from the recovered volatile substances; moving the cast sheet in the conveying direction during drying; collection of spent substances produced during the drying phase from various locations along the direction of transport; and obtaining a different substance from the spent substance, depending on the place of collection.
