FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for combating biofilms on both biotic and abiotic surfaces. For effective destruction of microorganisms in biofilms, the sensitivity to antimicrobial substances of the main microorganisms of biofilms, and those non-pathogenic microorganisms or their metabolites that maximize the level of ATP production by biofilm microorganisms, are preliminarily determined. Then the biofilm is treated with antimicrobial agents, taking into account the sensitivity of the biofilm microorganisms and non-pathogenic bacteria or their metabolites, which maximize the level of ATP production by the biofilm microorganisms.
EFFECT: destroying microorganisms in biofilms both on biotic and abiotic surfaces with high efficiency.
