METHOD FOR SIMULATING BACTERIAL INFECTION WITH UNDERLYING BURN INJURY Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2530564 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: experimental model is presented by rabbits which are kept for one month at air temperature of 24-26°C and fed with cereal- and wood-rich food. A burn is applied to the anaesthetised rabbits at the area of 10-20% of the animal's body area. A mixture of the culturable bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus in the concentration of 105-106 microbial cells in the total volume of 1 ml is mixed with an equal amount of 1% enzyme β-amylase at a temperature 24-26°C. Thereafter, 30 minutes later the prepared mixture is administered into the rabbits subcutaneously in an amount of 1 ml of the mixture; bacterial infection is recorded in the experimental animals for 21 days.

EFFECT: method enables simulating the process in the form of acute major infection wherein vegetative forms of the bacteria are more sensitive to damaging action that provides conditions for developing effective methods for therapeutic and preventive actions aiming at minimizing infectious diseases.
