FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical decision support systems (MDS) and can be used for visualization of pathological structures, retinal layers and areas of destruction of retinal layers on structural optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans. Based on the presence and combinations of detected pathological signs, a differential diagnostic search is carried out for the most probable pathology or a combination of pathologies. Based on the segmentation of the layers of the retina, the search for zones of destruction of the layers of the retina is carried out to determine the visual prognosis of the patient.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to segment retinal layers, to identify, on the basis of segmentation, such important signs of visual prognosis as disorganization of the inner layers of the retina, destruction of the ellipsoidal zone and outer boundary membrane, as well as atrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium.
